What is a simple Tree Diagram?
A simple tree diagram can be made from flipping a coin twice. The first coinflip can branch off into two outcomes, heads or tails. The second coinflip can branch off from each of those possible outcomes with further outcomes of heads or tails. The possible pathways can be counted and calculated for probability.

What is the purpose of Tree Diagrams?
The purpose of a Tree Diagram is to essentially ease the visualization and calculations for probabilities, combinations of options, or costs and benefits to decisions. The diagram ends when all possible outcomes are displayed. Pathways in the diagram can show choices or sequences of events.
